Airosa was founded in 2012 by the fashion designer Inês Vicente but only by the next year it turned into a backpack label. It happened very organically, one Christmas Inês decided to make a backpack for her sister Carolina so that she could carry her laptop comfortably and with style while cycling to work. The bag was a hit and the two sisters decided to start producing and selling them online and on summer markets.

Through time the original model has been slightly altered by the feedback of its users. To us it is very important to stay on track of what people need while keeping a "future classic" look so that our customers want to keep their backpacks forever.

We make vegan backpacks carefully designed and handmade to be comfortable, look cool and make their users happier.

Our backpacks combine practicality with sophistication. The minimalistic lines along with the use of vegan leather and the rope straps make them unique and extremely versatile; great for your every day wonders.

We produce in small scale, focusing on 2 or 3 products, that are constantly influenced by our customers feedback. We invest in the transparency of the design process and the designer/consumer communication.  All our bags are made in a family run business, near Lisbon. Working with a small factory allows us to produce small quantities each time and makes it easier to control the product quality. It only takes us 30 minutes from our studio to the factory, which makes communication very easy. It's great to build a trusty relationship while supporting local businesses.

At Airosa, we believe that products made with quality and time are longer lasting and have a positive environmental impact. That is why we are called “airosa”, which means graceful.
